Busoga Kingdom officially announces its new Queen, with a royal wedding scheduled for November.

During the ceremony, His Majesty the King will formally introduce Queen Mutesi to the Kingdom and the global community.

"It is a momentous occasion for Busoga people worldwide as I proudly declare the presence of Her Royal Highness Inhebantu of Busoga, a result of the recently concluded successful traditional ceremonies earlier today," the statement highlights.

"This exemplifies the rich cultural heritage of our King and Queen," the statement further emphasizes.

In a concise post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), King Nadiope unveiled Queen Mutesi's visage to the world by sharing her portrait.

"Virtual Portrait Unveiling, Her Royal Highness Inebantu (Queen of Busoga), Jovia Mutesi," he posted.

It's noteworthy that the Kyabazingaship in Busoga is an elected position. Initially, the King was selected from among the five hereditary chiefs directly descended from Bunyoro-Kitara. However, Busoga's constitution was amended to permit all 11 hereditary chiefs to run for the position of Kyabazinga.
